CardSoft to provide STIP and FINREAD support to
Texas Instruments OMAP platform
CardSoft eAppliance Solution enables OEMs and independent software developers using TIs OMAP platform and to create secure applications for fixed and wireless m-commerce transactions
San Mateo, CA and Cannes, France -- February 18th, 2003 -- CardSoft, a recognized pioneer of interoperable software on fixed and wireless m-commerce devices, announces the porting of their STIP and FINREAD platforms to TIs OMAP processors. CardSoft, Inc. will create a mobile computing-based secure Java environment for Windows® CE and Symbian developers.
CardSoft offers an application development environment for OEMs and developers to create high performance secure solutions for small, mobile computing devices in multiple industries such as retail and financial services. This enables secure transactions on small devices such as PDAs and smart phones. Specifically CardSoft will be porting STIP 2.1.1, GlobalPlatform 2.0, and Java EMV to Symbian -- and FINREAD 1.1 to Windows CE.
CardSoft is the first to offer a solution that complies with industry-backed standards from GlobalPlatform, STIP, FINREAD, Jconsortium, MIDP and Sun CLDL. Working with TI, CardSoft can offer competitive applications to secure m-commerce on devices using TIs OMAP processors.

The mobile phone in essence becomes a secure point of purchase device.
