LAUNCH OF A NEW COMPANY ARRANGING GUIDED TOURS OF THE SIGHTS IN ITALY FOR THE INDEPENDENT TRAVELLER

A new online travel company, NLB Travel, was launched today focusing on the independent traveller. Aimed at a niche customer market of travellers wishing to visit the magnificent sights in Rome, Venice, Florence etc, NLB Travel provides a service that allows the customer to conveniently book their tours before travelling. Targeting an area that is not greatly promoted by the large tour operators or travel agents, NLB Travel aims to provide interesting and informative tours to educate the mind of its customers.

The company is owned and run by Natalie Brown who has received support from The Princes Trust, Business Link and local government business advisers. After returning to the UK from living in Rome, she discovered that the information and facilities for consumers to book only tours of such historical sights as the Colosseum and the Vatican from Britain and not flights/accommodation was virtually scarce. Miss Brown said I was amazed that the large tour operators and travel agents only provided this service when a customer books a package holiday. With the emergence of the low cost airlines, more people are travelling independently and are booking their flights and accommodation separately, but the option of booking a guided tour is a service that many companies do not provide to the independent traveller".

Whilst the company has received numerous enquiries and is trading with the US and Australia, its main focus is providing a service to the people in the UK to link them with the many cultural and historical sights which Italy has to offer.
