Powerwave Technologies Introduces New High Efficiency UMTS MCPA At 3GSM World Congress

(NASDAQ: PWAV), a leading supplier of radio frequency (RF) power amplifiers for use in wireless communications networks, will demonstrate its latest high performance multi-carrier power amplifier (MCPA) technology for UMTS networks at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, February 18 - 21. Demonstrations will include the company's newest high performance MCPA, which delivers an impressive 22 percent efficiency.

This unique architecture achieves efficiency levels exceeding 22 percent and demonstrates full 3GPP compliance over a 20 MHz (4 carrier W-CDMA) instantaneous bandwidth. This new proprietary architecture will initially be incorporated in Powerwaves next generation of 3G amplifiers.
