MapInfo, a world leader in Location-Based Services (LBS), today announces a global partnership with Irish-based LBS services company, Cyantel. Under the partnership Cyantel will create applications from its E-Z Manage range of LBS solution suites using the geo-spatial functionality from MapInfos miAware mobile location services platform.
The first of these systems is Cyantels E-Z Manage Resource Manager, an application solution for the management of remote workforces. The integrated solution, which will enable customers to locate and effectively deploy 'in the field resources, will be demonstrated by MapInfo at 3GSM World Congress, Cannes, 17 -- 21 February, 2003. The solution provides network operators and their customers with a compelling solution for organisations needing to locate, communicate with, manage and report on their mobile work forces.
E-Z-Manage Resource Manager is designed to work with existing handsets. Combining this with the added dimension miAware brings in terms of geo-spatial functionality and data, the solution delivers a rich offering for quick and easy deployment. Companies deploying the system can immediately identify the location of their employees, and co-ordinate their collective activities in the field.
According to Larry Delaney, general manager MapInfo LBS business unit: The integration of Cyantels LBS applications with MapInfo miAware creates a valuable solution that operators can quickly bring to market. miAware is fast becoming the industry standard platform -- upon which companies such as Cyantel are able to build beneficial business-oriented LBS solutions. The operator community is waiting for initiatives like this, whereby they can offer new services which bring real value to their customers."
Padraig Murphy, CEO Cyantel, says: This partnership is a perfect step for Cyantel, in terms of our own business development, adding to the richness of our offerings, and for the development of the LBS industry as a whole. There is clearly a place for sophisticated and easy-to-use products in the business community which can be effectively deployed for the ever-growing mobile workforce."
