The First Trade Association Devoted to Bioprocessing Professionals is Launched
The Society of Bioprocessing Professionals will cater to the emerging needs of the bioprocessing industry
(Indianapolis, Indiana)-Fueled by the need for additional information-sharing opportunities for those who work in commercial bioprocessing, a group of national leaders has formed the Society of Bioprocessing Professionals (SBP) to spearhead communication between science and engineering disciplines and offer instructional programs which integrate advancements in the bioprocessing and advanced manufacturing fields.
According to SBP Board Chair, Roger Brunkow the timing is perfect for this organization.
Those of us who work in the manufacturing of biotechnology believe strongly in a need to unify the diverse disciplines required for bioprocessing success," said Brunkow. That means providing synergy between scientists and engineers who work in biotech manufacturing settings."
SBP will be headquartered in Indianapolis, but will hold their first major membership conference in Washington, D.C. September 8 through September 12, 2003.
The inaugural SBP Bioprocessing Institute will provide instructional programs by some of the nations most distinguished bioprocessing professionals and will be designed for individuals and companies that are interested in the networking of bioprocessing applications.
