San Diego (PRWEB) February 21, 2003 -- 80,0002b Productions, an independent screenwriting and filmmaking partnership owned by Thomas Bennett and Brett Hanavan, announces the completion of its first independent short film, Clean Up Aisle 3.
The movie features Kevin Brennan as Danny Markham, a Midwestern, hard working engineer who loses his job and soon finds himself falling into the arms of a new career. It also stars Amy Dean as Belinda Markham the supportive, professional attorney-wife, and Lisa Heinemann as the flirtatious, sultry, fun-loving neighbor who unknowingly helps launch Dannys new career.
Jim Sykora and Mike Borman play key supportive roles in the 30-minute film that was shot in and around St. Louis in July 2002 with supportive scenes shot in San Diego in Spring and Fall 2002.
The movie was filmed using a Canon ZR-20 that uses mini-digital (DV) format. It was edited using Pinnacle Studio version 8.1 and rendered to DVD format for distribution.
The release date for Clean Up Aisle 3 is yet to be determined but final production work and editing will take place in St. Louis beginning February 6, 2003.
Were targeting a release date for Clean Up Aisle 3 in late Spring or early Summer 2003," Brett Hanavan, Chief Information Officer of 80,0002b said. Were excited about this and are confident that were achieving what we set out to do and that was prove to ourselves that we could write, film and produce a short 'indie-style movie from start to finish. Weve learned so much along the way."
The process of going through making Clean Up Aisle 3 along with other side projects and our interest in screenwriting and the technical side of filmmaking has motivated us to embark onto other writing and production efforts in 2003," Tom Bennett, Chief Technical Officer of 80,0002b said.
Bennett serves as 80,0002bs lead producer and director while Hanavan is the editorial director and director of photography. Both Bennett and Hanavan do 100 percent of the creative writing for the company.
The movie was made well within its modest budget, but that certainly does not mean that anything was compromised during the filming and production. The core footage was shot within a period of four days during the sweltering Midwestern summer.
Brennans screen presence, charm, and attitude made it extremely easy to do," Bennett added. Danny, errr Kevin was remarkable and added so much to our effort. We cannot thank him enough for making Danny real."
80,0002b is selectively targeting to send the movie to film festivals and to enter it in contests. Earlier in 2002, 80,0002b entered scripts in a project Greenlight contest that were written as :30 second television advertisements for Samuel Adams beer.
80,0002b also has created and introduces an Earthwide web home for Clean Up Aisle 3 (www.cleanupaisle3.com) that provides information behind the story of the film, biographies and background about the cast, a journal that chronicles the evolution of 80,0002bs creation and the its creation of Clean Up Aisle 3, and an interesting photograph page that features promotional photographs as well as screen captures from the actual movie.
Were excited about our future and excited about our efforts," Hanavan added. If we gain some attention by making Clean Up Aisle 3 then weve gained more than we had hoped originally."
Billy King of Kinetic Studios in San Diego produced the original soundtrack for Clean Up Aisle 3. King can be reached at (619) 300-8252 or by e-mail at wking@san.rr.com
A Clean Up Aisle 3 premiere party is being planned that will likely by held at Lemmons Bar in St. Louis in June 2003 and an additional party to be hosted in San Diego following.
