The founder of the band, Nick Ashton forged a close friendship with famous Jazz bassist Max Bennett, expressing his desire to create a true West Coast Country sound. Nick has assembled a group of experienced and influential musicians from such bands as Toby Keith, Frank Zappa,Celine Dion, and the Lion King production in LA.

Ashton recognized that groups such as the Dixie Chicks, who look alternative and sound country, attract both alternative and country audiences. Tin Rooster is a unique mixture of not only the look, but also the music from both genres.
