SUMMERSIDE (CANADA) (Feb 26, 2003) - The staff and management of farfan.com announced today the launch of DVMarketPlace.com (http://www.dvmarketplace.com/), an online digital video product information portal.

"It has helped us bring together the years of research and interest in the digital video, production, and filmmaking industries into a site that will be useful to others involved or interested in the industry," said Site Administrator Luc Theriault.

DVMarketPlace.com is a directory of Digital Video products, ranging from cameras, steadying systems, editing software, 2D, and 3D animation software. It is run by farfan.com, an Internet media firm.

The site's management said they have worked at putting together a list of a number of options in all categories, as well as manufacturer links to help DVMarketPlace.com visitors choose the right product for their needs.
"We've had problems finding quick, simple information on existing sites when looking at new products. For example, we feel that our list of 3D animation software packages includes a good variety of products to help others choose the right solution. It could have saved us quite a bit of time when we were looking for that software for our own use," said Sara Parent, Manager of Customer Service.

The site is growing. Reviews are planned for the site, as well as articles and an expanded DV Events list.

And how does the staff know their service will be useful for the online community? "We've already used the directory ourselves to find the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of a camera we were thinking of buying used," added Theriault.
