New Sitescape Enterprise Forum 7.0 Brings Collaboration Value to the Enterprise

Offers improved integration, usability and enterprise scalability

Maynard, MA (PRWEB) February 27, 2003 - SiteScape Inc., a leading provider of web-based collaboration software and services, announced today the availability of SiteScape Enterprise Forum Version 7.0. SiteScape Enterprise Forum 7.0 provides numerous new features and enhancements, which fall into three categories: increased integration, enhanced usability, and enterprise scalability.

"SiteScape provides industry-leading functionality at the lowest enterprise price," said Timothy P. Butler, SiteScape President and CEO. "This price/performance combination enables SiteScape to bring great value to the enterprise, which explains why SiteScape is thriving in this poor economic climate."

Choice of SQL Databases
With this announcement, SiteScape Forum 7.0 now runs on a choice of SQL-compliant databases, including Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Oracle 8I and FrontBase. Support for SQL databases provides a more robust development platform and allows SiteScape customers to unlock the information in their legacy systems.

Collaborative Tasks, Reminders and Bookmarks
By adding collaborative tasks, reminders and bookmarks in version 7.0, SiteScape leapfrogs the competition. The new tasks feature provides an easy way to keep track of assignments; users can assign tasks to themselves or others, and associate them with groups, discussions, documents or workflows. Users can set a start date, due date, priority, percent complete, assignees, and user-definable notification dates. Forum reminders can be set to jog your memory of pending activities. Bookmarks provide one-click access to frequently used discussions, documents or calendars, so that the user can return to them easily in the future.

According to Peter Hurley, SiteScape's Executive Vice President of Engineering, "Our product is superior to others in that users can not only create tasks, reminders or bookmarks; but they can also link those tasks, reminders and bookmarks to documents, workflows, calendars and other entries. This enables users to place tasks, reminders and bookmarks in the context of their various projects, teams, processes and workflows. In so doing, our software effectively mirrors the way people actually work."

New Document Management Features
SiteScape Enterprise Forum 7.0 adds makes it faster and easier to manage large document file systems and folders via two key document management features: round-trip edit (automatic check-in/check-out and versioning) and drag and drop upload.

Real-time Meeting Integration
SiteScape Enterprise Forum 7.0 now offers the option of real-time web conference meetings. Meetings can be launched from within Forum at the touch of a button. Forum web conferencing enables distributed teams to work simultaneously on projects and to capture, index and reuse the collective output of a real time session.

Additional Enhancements
•     Enhanced Portal Support -
The new Focused Portlets enable the portal administrator to add an individual discussion/document forum, calendar, search box or site map to a portal environment, simplifying and streamlining the user's portal experience.
