PhPerl.com, a startup focused on developing open source, web-based, business-oriented applications using Linux, Apache and PostgreSQL, releases three open source projects

PhPerl.com released three new projects based on Free/Open Source technology. PhPerl projects integrate Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL and Perl, providing new open source, business oriented web applications.

"Open Source Software provides an excellent infrastructure for business", says Almerindo de Palma, PhPerl project leader. "What we are delivering is a set of business applications on top of this".

"Every PhPerl project is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and comes with documentation to help developers get started", says Nelson Ferraz, PhPerl main developer.

The projects are:

  •      Address Book: stores information about customers, partners,

supliers and competitors in a centralized place, classifying

     contacts by sector and type.

  •      Activity Management: tracks and records activities.
  •      Balanced Scorecard: a tool designed to help organizations

     define and comunicate their strategies.

Because the projects are modular and come with full source code, developers can learn how to integrate Linux, Apache and PostgreSQL using Perl or any other programming languages.

Developers are incentived to download, use, learn, modify and redistribute (gratis or for a fee) these projects.
