Cosaint Certify (PRWEB) February 28, 2003
February 26, 2003 - Bellingham, WA
Cosaint Inc. (http://www.cosaint.net), a Bellingham (WA) based company specializing in online information security education for end-users, today announced the availability of their courses in AICC and SCORM conformant versions for use in major learning management systems.
Cosaint produces web-based training solutions for organizations wishing to improve the level of end-user security awareness and hence reduce their exposure to costly (and embarrassing) security incidents. Courses currently in production include "Defend Yourself Against Viruses", "Good Password Practice" and "Safe Surfing". Courses under development cover e-mail security, incident reporting and identity theft as well as industry-specific courses to support organizations looking to achieve HIPAA compliance.
Until now, these courses were only available through Cosaint's own hosted learning management system (LMS) - Cosaint Certify. This is a simple web interface ideal for small to mid-size organizations. But there is also a demand for the same courses to be made available to larger corporations who have existing learning infrastructures.
To meet this need, Cosaint has coupled its content development database to authoring tools that have been tested against and are conformant with both AICC and the latest SCORM 1.2 specifications. Courses can now be exported from the database and customized as required to include client-specific information such as security policies and procedures, or even to match the look-and-feel of the course to existing customer content.
Cosaint Certify courses are available now at http://www.cs-certify.net. Prices start at $32 per student per course dropping to $2 per student per course for larger purchases. The product runs on all common web browsers (Netscape 4 and above, and IE 5 and above) with no dependence on plugins. Please contact Cosaint to discuss your requirements for AICC or SCORM versions of these courses, or if you wish to discuss the development of custom security training courses.
Cosaint Inc. (http://www.cosaint.net) was founded in 2001 and is a privately-held company based in Bellingham, Washington. The company's guiding principle is Security Through Knowledge(SM) highlighting an emphasis on information, training and education.
In case you're wondering what "Cosaint" means ... it's a Gaelic word meaning to "to protect" or "to defend".
