The Golden Gate Wind Quintet was formed in 2002 to fill the void in the SF Bay area for a professional quality woodwind quintet. Comprised of flute(Jeffery Pelletier), oboe(Ivan Aladjoff), clarinet(Leslie Tagorda), French horn(Everett Doner) and bassoon(Scott Posey), woodwind quintet music combines versatility, scintillating sounds and unique instrumentation to create a very captivating texture.
Modeled after the New York Woodwind Quintet, the Golden Gate Wind QuintetÂs goal is to perform the full spectrum of quintet music and to encourage composers to create new music for this genre. In fact, later this year, the Golden Gate Woodwind Quintet will be performing a world premier composition/commission by composer Sy Brandon.
