The 32nd Annual Northwest Folklife Festival, Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-26, 2003, 11a-11p, Seattle Center, Seattle, Washington

Four days of traditional music, dancing, films, crafts and foods from cultures around the world. Family friendly!

One of the largest free outdoor festivals in North America. Nearly 1,000 performances take place over the weekend on indoor and outdoor stages throughout the Seattle Center grounds. 2003 theme: "East Meets West: Maritime Culture in the Atlantic Northeast and the Pacific Northwest." In addition to special maritime programs, cultures and traditions from the Pacific Northwest and across the globe will be represented in a a variety of performances. Craft sales and demonstrations, exhibits and workshops, participatory music and dancing films, storytelling, choral singing, panels, and more go on throughout the weekend.
