SAM2 LEVELS PLAYING FIELD FOR INDEPENDENT AND CORPORATE BROADCASTERS

Streaming Audio Manager (SAM) fully automates webcasts for terra and Internet-only stations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAM2 LEVELS PLAYING FIELD FOR INDEPENDENT AND CORPORATE BROADCASTERS
Streaming Audio Manager (SAM) fully automates webcasts for terra and Internet-only stations

LUBBOCK, TX. March 4, 2003 -- Spacial Audio Solutions today announced the release of SAM2, the RC1 (Release Candidate) version of the company's Streaming Audio Manager (SAM) broadcast automation technology. Spacial Audio Solutions' SAM software has enabled Internet broadcasts since 1998. SAM2 fully automates FM and Internet broadcasts and provides full Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) compliance, which historically has been a difficult and expensive prospect for terra radio broadcasters and Internet-only stations. SAM2 technology provides the small or independent broadcaster with the same level of strength and power as professional, terra radio broadcasters with licensing in the hundreds of dollars, compared to typical licensing fees in the tens of thousands. The release of SAM2 effectively levels the playing field between commercial and independent broadcasters while providing consumers and advertisers greater-than-ever accessibility to Internet broadcasts.

"Sam2 makes the job of broadcasting on the Internet so easy that a single person with a very meager budget can run a complete and fully automated station and sound as professional as any of today's most popular radio stations," said Bryan Payne, CEO of Spacial Audio Solutions. In conjunction with the upcoming release of our ad overlay and syndication content insertion technology, our webcasting solutions will instantly and economically bridge the technological gap between Internet-only and terrestrial radio stations."

According to a February 25, 2003 release from Arbitron (NYSE:ARB), a recent study with Edison Media Research reveals that 103 million Americans age 12 and older have used Internet or video broadcasts and that 44% of all Americans currently use Internet audio or video, a figure that has nearly doubled in the last year. Spacial Audio Solutions, through its affiliate Internet broadcasting portal AudioRealm.com, is currently reaching an average of 5,000 concurrent listeners (over two million hours total time spent listening monthly) and enabling over 200 active broadcasters. Broadcasters include the top rated online country station The BEAR, CRIK FM, Japan-A-Radio and StreamingSoundtracks.com. The earlier version of SAM is currently in use by many broadcasters including the popular RCN Radio Network suite of stations and 8BallRadio.

According to Spacial Audio Solutions CTO Louis Louw, a unique feature of SAM2 is that it offers native support for the PCS-Electronics PCI Max Ultra PC FM Transmitter Card. Says Louw, "Coupled with SAM2, this feature enables the creation of a fully automated FM radio station for less than $500." Other significant applications include fully automated guided tours, small-scale advertising, wireless links between a consumer's PC and stereo, and low power FM output.

SAM2 features include simultaneous MP3 and Windows Media 9 streaming compatibility; multi-player decks; advanced playlist management and rotation logic; PAL scripting (Playlist Automation Language); drag and drop management; advanced, real-time listener statistics; voice-over mic input; sound FX module; advanced crossfader and gap killer requiring no soundcard; direct album cover art support; complete SoundExchange and Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)/DMCA sound performance accounting and reporting; full 24-bit PCM audio decoding; and multi-server support including Windows Media, Live365, Shoutcast, and Icecast.

Industry-standard functionality was accomplished by working cooperatively with the following companies in SAM2's development: iM Networks, DRS2006, PCS-Electronics, Liquid Compass, JJ Mckay Productions and InternetRadio.nu.
