The 2003 African American Women in Business Conference convenes in Baltimore, MD

The African American Women in Business Conference is committed to empowering women who are interested in exploring new options. AAWIBC recognizes that participants have unique gifts and experience that can be directed into productive and prosperous lifestyles. AAWIBC believes through educational forums, mentorship opportunities, networking and training, that this can be done. AAWIBC is a celebration of each and every individual involved in this annual event by serving as the catalyst in assisting attendees in identifying their entrepreneurial and managerial path.

The African American Women in Business Conference will convene in Baltimore, Maryland August 7 -9, 2003 at Johns Hopkins University. I Am Not Waiting, I Am Happening Now" is the theme of this years event. We are looking to triple the attendance due to the phenomenal response we have received during the first two months of this year, stated Betty J. Price, Executive Director.

AAWIBC 2003 workshops and seminars will include key topics from Creating the Vision to Show Me the Money and Grant Writing. Presenters will include over 15 entrepreneurs and business professionals who will share their knowledge and expertise over the three day period.

Three dynamic African American women entrepreneurs who have also authored a number of business and motivational books will be this years honored guests at the AAWIBC Circle of Mentors Luncheon. Cheryl Broussard, author of Sister CEO: The Black Womans Guide to starting your own business; Niki Butler Mitchell, author of The New Color of Success: Twenty Young Black Millionaires Talk About How They Are Making It; and, Barbara Robinson, author of Eyes of the Beholder will provide a dynamic interactive experience in an up close and personal atmosphere for attendees.

AAWIBC 2003 attendees will visit African American Women owned and operated businesses in the Baltimore and surrounding areas, as well as enjoy Five Minutes of Fame" at the opening Reception. A very special highlight will be the AAWIBC Rites of Passage Program at the end of the conference. This event is a must do for entrepreneurs and those either in Management positions or aspiring the climb the corporate ladder", says Price.
