The International Association for Counterterrorism & Security Professionals (IACSP) announces The 11th Annual Terrorism Trends & Forecasts Symposium, The Headquarters Plaza Hotel, Morristown, New Jersey, May, 19 and 20th, 2003 -- sponsored by the Counterterrorism & Security Education and Research Foundation (CTSERF). Symposium Focus: Challenges that terrorism presents to the national and international corporate, business, security and law enforcement communities...and solutions to meet such challenges. Emphasis will be on cooperative preparedness efforts between the corporate/business world and various law enforcement and government agencies.

11th Annual Terrorism Trends & Forecasts Symposium Scheduled
For National and International Corporate, Business, Security and Law Enforcement Sectors


Arlington, VA - March 8, 2003 -- As America continues its fight against global terrorism, the Arlington, VA-based International Association for Counterterrorism and Security Professionals (IACSP) presents its 11th Annual Terrorism Trends & Forecasts Symposium for business and government. This high-level counterterrorism special event is scheduled at the The Headquarters Plaza Hotel, Morristown, New Jersey on May, 19th and 20th, 2003.

How does a terrorist attack influence the economy of our cities and states? Does the capture of high-level al Qaeda operatives mean America is more secure? What can businesses do to join the homeland security fight against indiscriminate attacks on our communities? When and how should a Crisis Management Plan for executive safety be developed? These and other questions will be addressed by top-level experts and government agency heads during the two-day symposium.

Presentations by over two-dozen counterterrorism experts include keynote speaker, Joe Billy, Special Agent-In-Charge, New York Office Terrorism Branch, FBI; Laurie Mylroie of The American Enterprise Institute; John R. Dew, CPP, former officer with U.S. Navy Underwater Demolition and SEAL teams, retired FBI agent, Manhattan Office, and member of the Joint Terrorist Task Force; Robert Weaver, cyberterrorism expert and Deputy Special Agent in Charge, New York Electronic Crimes, US Secret Service; Thomas Norman, new technologies expert; Sidney J. Caspersen, director New Jersey Office of Counterterrorism; Chris Quina, Chem/Bio/Radiological decontamination specialist; Craig O. Thompson, award-winning author, terrorism and business contingency planning consultant; and Tony Scotti, authority on executive safety.

Other subjects include Coping With Terrorism in an Urban Environment, Domestic Terrorism, Unprotected Border Crossings, Biometrics and Airport Security, Terrorist Propaganda, Fund Raising, and Recruitment On The Internet, and Traumatic Stress Syndrome: How To Deal with It and Where To Get Help. Additional panels will also be convened.

During the conference, representatives from the FBI, DEA, Justice Department, nationwide police and other agencies--along with many of their international counterparts--will gather to network and exchange vital information with other participants.
