Teaneck, NJ -- March 7, 2003 -- Radikal Records, one of the nation's leading independent record labels, announces the release of it's first greatest hits package. Radikal Top 40 - Greatest Hits, a double CD compilation, includes 40 of the label's biggest hits from the past 5 years and features diverse artists such as Sinead O'Connor, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, Eric B & Rakim, Zombie Nation, ATB, Opera Trance, Mauro Picotto, and Voodoo & Serano among many others.

Radikal Records was launched in 1990 and quickly established itself as the top techno and dance label in America. From 1990 until 1996, Radikal released singles at a frantic pace, scoring hit after hit by artists such as 2 Unlimited, Apotheosis, Urban Cookie Collective, Rozalla, N-Trance and Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim's alter ego Pizzaman, to name but a few.

Radikal revived the long dormant dance compilation format in the early 90's, first with its Radikal Techno series (selling hundreds of thousands of CDs to the club-going public without the help of radio support) and the radio hit driven Dance Mix USA series which racked up sales of well over 4 million units with its first four volumes. The label was also first in the use of TV infomercials to bring quality dance music to the masses - a move even Time Magazine took note of.

After a brief hiatus in the late 90's, during which time the label took the opportunity to refocus itself while it restructured it's manufacturing and distribution agreements, Radikal was ready for re-launch by the end of 1998 with a new exclusive distribution agreement in place with Caroline Distribution.

Radikal returned to the music scene in the spring of 1999 and instantly landed a major success with N-Trances remake of Rod Stewarts Da Ya Think Im Sexy?" featuring Rod Stewart himself. Soon thereafter, Germanys superstar DJ/producer ATB signed with the once again hot label for US release of his European monster hits 9PM" and Dont Stop" off of his debut hit album Movin Melodies". Less than 2 years after it's re-launch, Radikal had recaptured the crown as America's Top Independent Dance Label as heralded in Billboard Magazines 2000 Year End Chart Issue.

Such success did not go unnoticed and attracted many of the best and biggest dance acts to Radikal Records. European gold and platinum artists such as Blank & Jones, Mauro Picotto, Sunscreem, Cosmic Gate, Brooklyn Bounce and Schiller all chose Radikal as their US home. Radikal introduced America to diverse dance pop crossover hits such as Kernkraft 400" by Zombie Nation, which now gets play in every sports arena across the country, "Spente Le Stelle" by Opera Trance feat. Emma Shapplin, which brought opera to pop radio airwaves, Like A Prayer" by French # 1 sensation MadHouse, which paid tribute to one of the biggest pop icons of all time, and most recently Sinead OConnor's Troy (The Phoenix From The Flame)", which is Sinead's first ever dance release . The list of artists, hits and innovations goes on and on.

Since it's re-launch 5 years ago, Radikal Records has released well over 200 titles. Radikal Top 40 - Greatest Hits includes 40 of the label's biggest and best releases from the past 5 years on a 2 CD compilation package with a suggested retail price of only $18.98. Do the math and that breaks down to a consumer cost of less than 50 cents a song. In a time when singles are next to impossible to find at retail, if even available, a package of 40 singles for less than $20.00 is a deal to be had. The value alone can't be beat for what is virtually a plethora of recognizable dance hits. The songs exemplify what has made the label and its music so popular with legions of fans the world over. The combination of catchy hooks, strong melodies, invigorating basslines and energetic rhythms is hard to resist, even among those who normally don't like to dance.

Radikal Records is currently nominated for Best Label Of The Year at the 2003 Dancestar Awards - The American Dance Music Awards.

Radikal Top 40 - Greatest Hits is distributed in the USA by Caroline Distribution. 212-886-7500.
