New Choral Education Publication Released by MENC: The National Association for Music Education

Spotlight on Teaching Chorus is Latest in Popular Spotlight Series

RESTON, VA (PRWEB) March 13, 2003 --Choral directors will find helpful tips and ideas to apply to their work with choirs in schools, places of worship, and communities in Spotlight on Teaching Chorus, a new book just published by MENC: The National Association for Music Education.

This book is the latest release in the best-selling Spotlight series, books containing articles that have appeared in MENCs state affiliate magazines in recent years. Article topics include conducting, choosing repertoire, rehearsing, developing programs, recruiting, vocal coaching, and preparing for competitions.

The book will appeal not only to choral teachers, but also to instrumental teachers who may use singing techniques during rehearsals and general music teachers who are often called on to work with ensembles.

All choral directors should have this book on their desk," said Lynn Brinckmeyer, nationally known choral clinician and president of MENCs Northwest Division. The ideas, techniques, and experiences in this book, written by my colleagues and fellow choral directors, will give new and experienced teachers and directors a shot of inspiration along with a good dose of organization."

Spotlight on Teaching Chorus (#1694) is available from MENC for $24.00. MENC members receive the discounted price of $18.00. To order, call 1-800-828-0229 or visit www.menc.org. For more information, call MENC at 1-800-336-3768.
