Award-Winning Christian Author Coming to Campbell

CAMPBELL, CA, March 12, 2003...Award-winning author, Dr. Lee Gugliotto is coming to the Campbell Seventh-day Adventist Church the weekend of March 14-16. The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association awarded Dr. Gugliotto a Gold Medallion, the equivalent of an Oscar" for Christian writers, for his Handbook for Bible Study (Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1995) proclaiming it the international, interdenominational Bible study book-of-the-year in 1996." Since then, he has written the Interactive Bible Study Manual (Neilson Press, 1999), and a growing series of Interactive Empower-tools for small group and personal study.

Dr. Gugliotto grew up Roman Catholic in Brooklyn, New York. He converted to Protestantism in Jacksonville, Florida, where he pastored several churches for more than a decade, before entering the Seventh-day Adventist ministry in 1983. Regarded by many as an insightful, practical expositor of the Word, Dr. Gugliotto has taught biblical languages and principles of biblical interpretation at several seminaries.

Along with his wife, Jolynn, Dr. Gugliotto enjoys enabling lay people for ministry and believes that Christ-like service begins with a solid foundation of Gods Word. They frequently present non-denominational Interactive Bible Study workshops to empower people of all faiths and ages to investigate the Scriptures for themselves. Together, they co-founded the Empower Ministries Corporation, a non-profit affiliate of the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, dedicated to the teaching and promotion of interactive Bible study skills.

   The Gugliottos have developed the Empowertoolbox," a complete line of skills and materials for anyone interested in Bible study. The response to their presentations is nothing short of remarkable. Equipping people with Empowertools for communication with God through His Word, has blossomed into a full-time ministry. A speaker-in-demand to youth and adults around the world, Dr. Gugliotto is also an avid amateur astronomer who develops new and exciting materials for study between travels as president and presenter for Empower Ministries. He and Jolynn live in Reno, Nevada with a very large telescope and two cats, Milo" and Petie."
