Using an innovative device-centric" software design, Email-to-Go runs directly from a USB flash drive or other portable storage device, allowing PC users to "carry" their Outlook email from one computer to another, without having to install the Email-to-Go program on any of the systems used for email. Users can send, receive and manage their email-even across different Windows platforms-without having to worry about where their latest emails and documents are located, since all data is kept on the USB flash drive.
To get started with Email-to-Go, a few quick and easy steps will port the users Outlook configuration, address book and email folders to a USB flash drive. When the flash drive is plugged into any desktop, notebook, Tablet or Pocket PC, Email-to-Go is running and ready to perform. Unlike other portable email solutions, Email-go-Go works with industry-standard email programs like Outlook (Outlook Express is supported in imagine LANs P.I. Protector Mobility Suite software), thereby removing any learning curve or incompatibilities associated with using proprietary email applications. Additionally, Email-to-Go eliminates the problem of having email messages dispersed over multiple PCs or left on the server, forcing users to perform redundant message downloads and deletions. It also prevents users from having to send carbon copy messages to themselves in order to get a physical email message to their primary PC. Additionally, email management capabilities let users back up their email messages and address book to any system for archival purposes.
Availability, Pricing and Requirements
Email-to-Go is designed for easy use, and it takes only a few minutes to set up. When the USB flash drive or portable storage device is plugged into a PC, an Auto Pop menu starts up to enable portable email. Additionally, in order to send and receive messages with Email-to-Go, the host system must have Windows XP, an Internet connection and Outlook 2000 or higher. Email-to-Go requires a portable storage device that is either USB, 1394/FireWire or PC card (PCMCIA) compatible (USB flash drives can be purchased from imagine LAN as an add-on option to the software) with a minimum of 2 MB for program storage, plus 64 MB or greater available space for email messages, contacts and other related Outlook files. The amount of space required for email messages is dependent upon the size of the message store. Email-to-Go is expected to ship in the 2nd quarter of this year.
