Interlink Networks, a leading developer of network security and access control software, today announced that its Secure.XS wireless LAN security software is a key component of the Internet access solution -- providing network user Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) services -- for exhibitors at the CeBIT show in Hannover, Germany, March 12-19, 2003.

The CeBIT Internet access solution is based on Internet Gatekeeper (TM), an appliance solution developed by Cluster Labs (www.cluster-labs.com), a leading manufacturer of blade server systems. Internet Gatekeeper works as a hotspot/network access controller, providing wired and wireless LAN-based Internet connectivity for the exhibitors. Internet Gatekeeper uses the Interlink Networks Secure.XS (pronounced Secure-Access) software for user authentication, authorization, and accounting. The solution provides high availability AAA with transparent fail-over for all security services. The Internet Gatekeeper provides a billing interface between the standard Secure.XS accounting and Kabel Deutschland, which provides the high-speed Internet connectivity. CeBIT exhibitors are charged on a per-minute basis.

Secure.XS secures wireless LANs by verifying user identities and blocking intruder access using standards-based, strong 802.1x authentication. Secure.XS provides a full line of defense by enforcing user authentication before granting network access and creating unique encryption keys for each user session, securely encrypting traffic between clients and wireless access points.
