Performance Conversions Opens for Business in Latin America

Performance Conversions Ltd. names sales and service agents for Bechcraft King Air Walter-Avia conversions in Brazil.

Incline Village, Nevada. & São Paulo, Brazil, March 13, 2003 - Performance Conversions Limited (PCL), a principal supplier of Walter-Avia conversions for business aircraft, today announced partnership agreements with air taxi carrier TL Táxi Aéreo Ltda, based in Sao Paulo, and air service center Construtora Nacional de Avioes Ltda. (CONAL), based in Sorocaba. Under the agreements, TL Táxi Aéreo is now authorized to market and sell PCL conversions in Brazil and other Latin American countries, while CONAL has been sanctioned to perform PCL conversions at its service facilities. This follows the July 2002 PCL announcement that PCL's FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Beechcraft King Air C90 Walter-Avia conversion was approved by Brazil's Aerospace Technical Center (CTA).

"We are very pleased to announce these partnerships to serve our Latin America customers," says Robert Turnage, managing director of PCL. "Aside from the U.S.A., Latin America is home to the largest population of Beechcraft King Air owners--a popular and reliable aircraft that is prized by business travelers worldwide. Our Walter-Avia conversion adds great value, not only in terms of performance, lower operating costs, and comfort, but it gives pilots a greater safety margin during takeoff and landing--a vital capability on small airstrips common in this region of the world."

"PCL gives King Air owners an easy way to make a great airplane better, and save money at the same time" says Custodio Sampaio Júnior, director at TL Táxi Aéreo. "We were so impressed with the performance and cost benefits offered by the Walter-Avia King Air conversion that we recently purchased the first Brazilian Walter-powered King Air C90 for our own air taxi operations."

"Converting to Walter-Avia power ends up costing about the same as overhauling a pair of PT6A-20/21s," says Paulo J. G. Oliveira, financial director at CONAL. "Owners end up with better performance; lower operating, maintenance, and overhaul costs; and safety features not available with the Pratts."

Key Features of the Walter-Avia King Air conversion:
- King Air C90 conversion cost is about the same as overhauling a pair of Pratt & Whitney
PT6A-20/21s (after sale of removed engines/propellers)
- Reduce engine overhaul costs by about 60 percent
- Reduce maintenance downtime and costs (no mid-life accessory overhaul, fuel-nozzle maintenance or hot-section inspections)
- Fly up to 40 knots faster (true airspeed)
- Increase cruising altitude (up to 25,000 feet)
- Measurably reduce vibration and noise inside and outside the aircraft
- Shorten takeoff and landing requirements
- Increase maximum takeoff weight and climb rate
- Raisbeck aft body strakes are installed as part of the STC requirements
- Integral engine limiter prevents hot starts and overloading

Performance Conversions Ltd. (PCL), a private U.S. company headquartered in Incline Village, Nevada, holds FAA and Brazilian Supplemental Type Certificates (CHST) covering conversion of the Beechcraft King Air C/E90 series to Walter-Avia power. In addition, PCL also holds exclusive marketing rights and authority to authorize partnerships with marketing representatives and conversion centers worldwide.
