Quintum Technologies, a leading innovator in VoIP technology, today announced that a new study by leading market analysis firm In-Stat/MDR has revealed Quintum to be the industrys fastest-growing VoIP hardware solutions provider with a growth rate of over 170% in 2002. The study, entitled 2002 Packet Telephony Gateway Market Analysis," also indicates that Quintum is now the second-ranking provider of VoIP gateways for the low-density market, which is defined as VoIP gateways with fewer than 1000 ports.
Quintums rapid growth is coming at a time when many market leaders are experiencing sales declines and loss of marketshare.
Quintums Tenor switching platform for VoIP is clearly offering customers something that our competitors are not," said Chuck Rutledge, Quintums VP of Marketing. By providing a VoIP platform that eliminates risk, installs easily into existing environments, and provides the industrys richest feature set -- all at an extremely attractive price-points -- we will continue to out-perform those competitors and the market as a whole."
Quintum is out-performing its competitors in terms of both revenue and port shipments. During 4Q2002, for example, In-Stat reports that Quintums low-density VoIP port shipments increased nearly 37%. In this same time period, market leader Cisco Systems shipments actually declined slightly. In-Stats data also indicates that Quintums revenue in the low-density market for 2002 more than doubled while other competitors experienced significant declines, including the market leader, whose revenue declined over 70%.
Quintum has clearly cracked the code when it comes to selling low-density VoIP solutions," said Norm Bogen, the In-Stat/MDR analyst who authored the report. Through a combination of technical innovation and smart marketing, they have managed to attract buyers dollars and quickly grow their installed base."
Quintum now ranks behind only Cisco Systems in low-density VoIP marketshare.
Quintums Tenor product line offers a wide range of unique features that differentiate it from other VoIP solutions. These features include PSTN failover that eliminates risk from VoIP deployments, plug-and-play" installation into existing data and telecom environments, transparent communication across NAT (network address translation) firewalls and highly automated end-points administration.
Quintums Tenor platform proved itself to be the most appropriate and effective solution for our VoIP implementation," said Bob Appelzoller, Senior Communications Network Analyst at Pioneer Standard, a provider of enterprise computer solutions and services. We evaluated several of Quintums major competitors and found that Quintums products had the functionality, ease of implementation and value that we were looking for, and they minimized the risk associated with our VoIP deployment."
