Medicare + Choice Plan Announces a new Transportation Benefit
HealthSpring's Medicare + Choice Plan members now have a benefit that will provide them transportation to their HealthSpring Provider for medical services.
Effective March 1, 2003, HealthSpring, Inc. a Medicare + Choice plan has teamed up with Fresh Air Transportation to administer a transportation benefit for its Medicare beneficiaries.
One of the obstacles that some Medicare beneficiaries face in maintaining good health care is the lack of transportation to travel outside their home for medical services. That is why HealthSpring is so proud to introduce this new Transportation benefit which offers Medicare + Choice members up to 20 rides per year to receive medical service within the HealthSpring 13 county service area.*
Each one-way trip has a $5 copayment. A ride or trip is defined as transportation to one destination to receive medical services, which equals a $5 copay.
The hours of operation for this service are Monday through Saturday from 4:00am to 8:00pm and Sunday from 6:00am to 6:00pm. Members must call 24 hours in advance to schedule a ride at
