NEW VRLA BATTERY FROM ENERSYS PROVIDES MORE POWER IN SAME FOOTPRINT AS PREVIOUS MODEL AT THE SAME PRICE

NEW VRLA BATTERY FROM ENERSYS PROVIDES MORE POWER IN SAME FOOTPRINT AS PREVIOUS MODEL AT THE SAME PRICE

Reading, PA, March 2003 -- EnerSys Inc. Reserve Power Group has released a new increased power-to-size, front terminal valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery. Through grid and plate optimization, the 12V165F battery offers an increased capacity to 165 Ah, providing more power in the same standard footprint as the previous 12V155AH model. Additionally, since the 12V165F costs the same as its predecessor, the new battery provides significantly better value and improved return on investment (ROI). The new 12V165F is an extension of EnerSys PowerSafe V range of front terminal VRLA batteries, ideal for applications that require high power in a limited space, such as telecommunication, electric utility/switchgear, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and rail signal applications.

The unit's compact monobloc design and standard footprint make the product suitable for 23 racks and enable increased energy density. The use of gas recombination technology reduces storage requirements and maintenance costs by eliminating the need for regular watering intervals and by producing a minimal level of gas evolution in the battery, so it can be safely installed in cabinets or on stands, in offices or near main equipment.

Additionally, the 12V165s front terminal connections provide easy, front access to the batterys electrical connections, making installation, inspection and maintenance simpler and quicker. The terminals feature brass inserts, offering maximum conductivity with a high compression grommet, assuring prolonged product life. The new 12V165F has a capacity of 165 Ah at the 8-hour rate to 1.75 Vpc at 20°C (68°F), and a design life of 15 years.

The tough, flame-retardant, thick-walled case and lid, composed of VO-rated ABS that is highly resistant to shock and vibration, provide superior mechanical strength, thereby offering additional security. The battery can be shipped as non-hazardous cargo in accordance with IMDG and OICA requirements and is compliant with international standards BS 6290/4 and IEC 896/2.

Pricing for the new 12V165F starts at $460. Delivery is 1-2 weeks ARO.
