Getting Better all the Time -- BiP Launches PrOJECt Version 4

Business Information Publications (BiP) is pleased to announce that their online contract notice creation system, PrOJECt, has just got even better.

PrOJECt is an internet-based e-notice service for the creation, management and transmission of all values of contract announcements including those which are required to be submitted to the Official Journal of the European Communities (OJEC).

PrOJECt Version 4, with new improved features, will be available to use from Tuesday 25 March. It is designed to make producing tenders both easier and more efficient. Used by more than 350 public bodies (including OGCbuying.solutions, the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency and the Department for Trade and Industry), this amounts to approximately 900 personnel involved in public sector procurement.

PrOJECt accounts for approximately 30% of UK contract announcements submitted to the OJEC, benefiting users with faster (by 2-3 days) and more accurate publication of contract announcement information.

The all-new improved Version 4, which ensures that you keep abreast of any new legislation, has some new features that are bound to impress anyone involved in public procurement. New features include integrated multi-nomenclature                                         code searches (such as CPV, CPC or Service categories), an annual statistical return report writer, integrated online help and a dedicated procurement newsdesk service -- all helping procurement personnel become more effective whilst ensuring that they are using the standard format in line with EC requirements for submitting announcements for publication in the OJEC.

There are several other changes too that will ensure that PrOJECt is not only more efficient but more user-friendly. The new version helps BiP maintain its status as ground-breakers and market leaders -- they were the worlds first OJS e-Sender to use the new XML Document Type Definition (DTD) to produce contract information for publication in the OJEC.

Gillian Cameron, BiPs Client Services Director, said: "Feedback from our customers shows that PrOJECt eases the tendering process, making the task of creating a contract announcement much simpler. Whilst the standard form presents a myriad of fields to complete, PrOJECt offers users the ability to drill down to the exact nature and procedure type (e.g. Services, Restricted), providing users with a more precise document to complete and recording all announcements to a fully searchable database."

For more information about the new version of PrOJECt, please contact the PrOJECt Helpdesk at project_support@bipcontracts.com or telephone 0845 270 7050.

ABOUT BiP

Business Information Publications Ltd (BiP) was established in 1984 to facilitate business between the public and private sectors. What began with the publishing of public sector contract information has since developed into the provision of a comprehensive total procurement solution.

Today, BiP is one of Europe's leading information service providers to the public sector, providing it with not only electronic tendering solutions, website design and management, event management and online news services but also a whole range of dedicated tender information services, specifically developed for both buyers and suppliers. In fact, hundreds of government organisations use BiPs tender notification information services, as do over 15,000 private sector companies.

These services are supported by BiPs hosting of probably the world's largest database of current open to tender contract opportunities, of which the European Union OJEC data forms a small part. Our highly respected trade-focused publications (including those BiP publishes for government) contain news, reports, feature articles and interviews with high-profile public figures.

BiPs service development is solely client-driven. In addition to providing its growing client base with more open contract notices and awards, faster than any other service provider, it also provides internet services and web management as a GTC* approved supplier, with technical and contract procedural support. BiP is also a leading provider of e-tendering procurement systems.

*Government Telecommunications Contracts (GTC) are a series of framework agreements, under OGCbuying.solutions, for the provision of telematic infrastructure services. BiP was the only service provider to be awarded a multi-year contract for Internet Services and Web Management, based solely on its expertise and experience. For customers this means that they can reduce costs and achieve value for money.

PrOJECt Online is a fully managed service. During your licence period, you will receive a FREE online technical help service and telephone support available during normal working hours, plus FREE access to the PrOJECt Online contract notice database, which contains all OJEC and Government Opportunities contract announcements.
