INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, SAN JOSE, CA. - Portwell Inc, a leading Communication Appliance platform provider, unveiled today the NAR-7070 communication appliance server based on dual Intel® Xeon processors, the cutting-edge Intel® E7501 chipset with a 533 MHz system bus and dual Intel® 82546EB Gigabit Controllers.
As a new addition to Portwell Communication Appliance product line, NAR-7070 offers processing speed of 2.8 GHz and beyond and up to six Gigabit interfaces in an industrial grade 2U rack-mount system. This high computing and communication performance solution is designed for the most mission critical applications such as security, network management and multimedia communication.
The Hyper-Threading capabilities of dual Intel® Xeon processors provide unparalleled computing power to Gigabit oriented applications. The performance of six front-accessible Gigabit Ethernet interfaces is optimized to take full advantage of the high-bandwidth I/O architecture of Intel® E7501 chipset. The choices of different combination of Copper and Fiber-Optic Gigabit Ethernet interface are supported to satisfy a wider range of applications.
Two built-in PCI-X expansion slots of 133/100 MHz allow additional Ethernet or encryption acceleration card to boost overall hardware performance. An optional PMC connector of independent PCI-X channel is available to increase freedom of add-on card selection.
