Diamond IP Technologies Announces
General Availability of ImageControl Version 2.0
Diamond IP Technologies announces the General Availability of ImageControl Version 2.0, the premier solution to manage and update the firmware in DOCSIS compliant devices.
Exton, Pennsylvania -- Diamond IP Technologies announces the General Availability of ImageControl Version 2.0, the premier solution to manage and update the firmware in DOCSIS compliant devices. With this new release, ImageControl adds the ability to securely download DOCSIS firmware images to DOCSIS 1.1 devices, using SNMPv3 and the secure file download mechanism defined in the DOCSIS 1.1 standards specification.
Other solutions merge the firmware upgrade process with cable modem provisioning. ImageControl, on the other hand, operates independently of provisioning, making it an operations tool that provides unparalleled control and reporting to Cable Operators, without the overhead of maintaining mountains of configuration data. Managing firmware is our primary business", says Mike Dooley, President and COO of Diamond IP Technologies. Our goal is to simplify the update process and give Cable Modem control back to the MSOs in a way that will save them money, and facilitate the migration to DOCSIS 1.1."
Concerned about the integrity of their cable data networks, Multiple Service Operators (MSOs) are anxious to implement DOCSIS 1.1 security features. ImageControl Version 2.0 simplifies this implementation by making DOCSIS device upgrades effortless and transparent.
About ImageControl
In response to the growing challenges faced by MSOs in managing DOCSIS devices, the ImageControl Firmware Management System automates the update process for DOCSIS 1.0 and 1.1 compliant devices, including cable modems, set-top boxes and Multimedia Terminal Adapters.
ImageControl is a highly scalable, cost effective tool that allows MSOs to correct cable modem problems and migrate DOCSIS 1.0 devices to DOCSIS 1.1.
ImageControl distinguishes itself by only targeting updates matching a particular devices make and model. Using its unique ModelMatching technology, ImageControl can automatically discover, categorize and inventory all the DOCSIS devices on an MSOs network. They are then stored in a database for reporting and firmware update scheduling, which can be performed on-demand or scheduled in the future. This provides complete flexibility to MSOs. Firmware binaries are also registered and stored in this database for easy distribution to multiple TFTP servers.
ImageControl is currently in production at some of the largest MSOs in the world. For more information email sales@diamondip.com or call +1.610.423.4770.
