COURTROOM 21 PROJECT TO HOST COURTHOUSE RENOVATION AND CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE

The Courtroom 21 Project will present the 2003 William & Mary Courthouse Construction and Renovation Conference" on May 13 and 14, 2003 in Williamsburg, Virginia. The conference is designed for judges, court administrators, and executive officers of court-related agencies who are interested in, or will be involved in, courthouse construction or renovation projects.

The Courtroom 21 Project will present the 2003 William & Mary Courthouse Construction and Renovation Conference" on May 13 and 14, 2003 in Williamsburg, Virginia.

The conference is designed for judges, court administrators, and executive officers of court-related agencies who are interested in, or will be involved in, courthouse construction or renovation projects.

Special emphasis will be placed on points in the construction and renovation process where critical decisions about technology and security should be made. Examples of discussion topics include: identifying and analyzing facility needs and the options available to meet those needs, choosing an architect and selecting an appropriate contracting strategy, and understanding the roles and decision-making responsibilities of key participants during the planning and construction/renovation stages.

Faculty for the conference will include: Martin Gruen, Courtroom 21 Deputy Director for Courtroom Design and Technology; Tom Pinkerston, AIA, an architect with twenty-five years of experience designing federal and state courthouses; and Gerald Thacker, a consultant and former commissioner of the U.S. Public Building Service and former Assistant Director for Facilities and Security at the Administrative Offices of the U.S. Courts.

Registration is $500 per person for all registrations received on or before April 13, 2003 and $550 per person for all registrations received after April 13, 2003. A discounted registration of $275 per person is available to Courtroom 21 Court Affiliate Members.
