Moonlight Debuts Real-time MPEG-2/H.264 Surveillance Solutions at ISC 2003
Moonlights real-time codec solutions running on DSPs and PCs directly cater to the needs of the surveillance market.
Tel Aviv, Israel, March 26, 2003 -- Moonlight, a core technology provider of advanced video codec products, will be showcasing its real-time superior low bit rate, broadcast quality MPEG-2 and H.264 encoder and decoder line at this years ISC Expo/West in Las Vegas.
At ISC 2003, Moonlight will illustrate how well-suited its SharkImage codec products are for the surveillance market. Moonlight provides security and surveillance product manufacturers with an inexpensive software codec solution customized to meet the needs of their specialized products. Specifically for the surveillance market, Moonlights highly engineered algorithms allow for state-of-the-art motion estimation ability. This sophisticated motion estimation algorithm can be programmed to invoke computer alerts upon detection of changes in the area under observation-no human interaction necessary-providing your surveillance products with a competitive advantage over similar technologies.
The Moonlight MPEG-2/H.264 codec products will be displayed as a TriMedia DSP solution, an Equator DSP solution, and as a PC solution.
On the TriMedia DSP, we will present the SharkImage Encoder on the MDS (Momentum Data Systems) Digital Video Engine-2 (DVE-2) product. The DVE-2 is designed to provide features found in a PC host in an embedded board. It features a 200 MHz Philips TriMedia processor and excels at applications that require real time video and/or audio processing.
On the Equator DSP, we will feature the SharkImage Encoder on the Tetra hardware platform. Tetra is a low-cost, low-power, and small form factor reference platform designed for video intensive security, automotive video and IP-based consumer appliances that can run on Linux or VxWorks operating systems.
For PCs, we will present the Moonlights PVR/NetStreamer Encoder, which enables the digital storing and distribution of TV and video content to multiple PCs and IP set top boxes throughout the home or enterprise using a consumer-grade video capture card.
Moonlights PVR/NetStreamer Encoder allows video capture card manufacturers to add this remarkable remote content distribution feature to their product line, creating extremely low cost PVR, Video Distribution Centers, and Media Centers. Combined with Moonlights Elecard MPEG-2 Streaming Decoder, the PVR/NetStreamer Encoder creates a full home distribution video system.
