CHERRY TEE SUPPORTS THE ASIA SOCIETY'S 2003 INTERNATIONAL ASIAN ART FAIR
Celebrating the Symbolism of the Cherry Tree on U.S. and Japanese Friendship
Cherry Tee, a fashion t-shirt brand, partners with the Asia Society by donating its tees for The 2003 International Asian Art Fair.
(NEW YORK, NY -- March 26, 2003) -- Cherry Tee, the fashion t-shirt brand, announced today its participation in the annual International Asian Art Fair Gala Preview Party on March 27, 2003. The company has chosen the Asia Society as the first charitable organization with which to partner.
"Our brand's name and logo inspired our contribution to the Asia Society's springtime art and cultural event," says Deborah Brener Zolan, founder of Cherry Tee. Cherry trees have a deep significance in Japanese culture and are a traditional motif in art, literature and cuisine. They're also a symbol of the celebration of spring. Cherry blossom festivals are held this time every year across the U.S. as a commemoration of its bond with Japan. "We love that the cherry connotes beauty, creativity and friendship and we're proud to partner with the Asia Society," she adds.
Cherry Tee will donate its fashion tees for the gift bags, which will be distributed at a dinner following the benefit. The dinner is sponsored by the Fairs Young Patrons Committee - a group of young professionals with strong ties to Asia. The Committee is co-chaired by Ms. Lisa Ling, whose affinity for the Cherry Tee collection has underscored the brand's enthusiasm in participating.
