BirchBob.org destined to be the One Stop Web Search System for Technologies Available for Licensing

BirchBob.org is a free web site dedicated to promote, develop, and facilitate the use of the BirchBob Project among users worldwide. BirchBob aims at creating the first One Stop Search System which will be an open standard FREE to the public. This web site is organized for participants to take full advantage of valuable FREE services offered to the licensing commercialization community.

March 25,2003 --Today, leaders in the field of Intellectual Property Commercialization announced the BirchBob Project, a One Stop Web Searching System to locate Technologies Available for Licensing. The BirchBob Project was conceived by Barry Datlof, aXaMaL Inc. and J.F. Plucker, 4iP Inc. Together, they have organized a working group of world class research organizations interested in utilizing the web to extend the search ability of their technologies by creating and using a standard XML tagging schema. BirchBob will create the first One-Stop Search System that uses semantic searching to retrieve technologies available for licensing from every research technology transfer office that tags their web content.

It was also announced today, that a new website, BirchBob.org, was launched online. BirchBob.org is a free web site dedicated to promote, develop, and facilitate the use of the BirchBob Project among users worldwide. BirchBob aims at creating the first One Stop Search System which will be an open standard FREE to the public. This web site is organized for participants to take full advantage of valuable FREE services offered to the licensing commercialization community. The web site has all of the information you will need to begin tagging your technologies available for licensing, and participating in this effort to expand commercialization of technology available for licensing.

Birchbob.org also offers access to value-added services aimed at the technology transfer community, including XML tagging and database development, the creation of web enabled marketing materials for showcasing available technology, extended web site services, web based contract systems and negotiation services.

The name BirchBob" is a tribute to Birch Bayh and Bob Dole, who authored The Bayh-Dole Act of 1980. The Bayh-Dole Act has created strong incentives for government, universities, and industry to work together to commercialize new technologies for the public benefit.
