Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Feature Included In New Business Web Service

New service helps employers comply with regulation while also gathering good ideas.

Atlanta -- March 26, 2003 -- Today, Passing Lane Technologies, Inc. announced the launch of SuggestionBox.biz, a new business Internet service that provides a high level of compliance to a new Sarbanes-Oxley regulation while also solving an employee communications problem caused by the widespread monitoring and surveillance of company intranets. The service is available today for preview at www.suggestionbox.biz and will start accepting paid subscriptions on April 9, 2003.

SuggestionBox.biz is an idea gathering and corporate compliance tool based on the familiar and friendly concept of a suggestion program. Employees logon to SuggestionBox.biz to submit suggestions and employers logon to another part of the site to retrieve them. All interaction after entering the site is encrypted using 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. With SuggestionBox.biz, employees can easily and securely share their confidential and anonymous ideas with their employer from any web browser, including their desktop at work.

SuggestionBox.biz fills the market need for an independent third-party suggestion service. Due to legal liabilities, the large majority of employers now monitor employee email and web usage, and many employees withhold information rather than risk being identified while sending confidential information over a company owned network. By subscribing to SuggestionBox.biz, employers receive candid feedback from their employees that provides them with a transparent view of company operations not previously possible.

Employers need for confidential employee communications has increased due to a new federal regulation. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 mandates that all publicly held companies have a mechanism in place by April 26 of 2003 to enable employees to submit confidential and anonymous messages to the companys audit committee. SuggestionBox.biz provides a high degree of compliance to this regulation. Privately held companies should not ignore this rule, however because FASB regulations affecting all companies in similar ways are being modified to be in line with Sarbanes-Oxley.

Pricing is published on the site. SuggestionBox.biz typically costs employers less than one dollar a year per employee. There are three levels of service available and employers are free to choose whatever level of service they feel is appropriate.

Passing Lane Technologies, Inc. was founded in early 2002. The team that developed SuggestionBox.biz has a total of more than 80 years experience in business technology solutions, application development and Human Resources consulting.
