SACMI donates 15,000 euros to train african environmental managers

SACMI donates 15,000 euros to train african environmental managers. The Group takes part in the WWF program with a donation to the African Conservation Education Trust.

Fifteen thousand Euros to train African environmental managers, a concrete commitment to safeguarding the planets health. Thats the donation http://www.sacmi.com">Sacmi has just made to the Southern African Conservation Education Trust to help set up the Southern African Wildlife College. In this way, then the Imola-based Group is playing an important role in the campaign, launched by the South African WWF, to establish an institute that will act as an education and training centre for environmental conservation and administration of natural reserves: this initiative is largely aimed at students and African organisations. "The Sacmi Cooperative", explains the Groups General Manager Eugenio Emiliani, "has, in recent years, reinforced its grass-roots philosophy of solidarity with others. This donation is yet another example of the attention the Group reserves for health and environmental matters and its concern for the planets future".

Sacmi, in fact, provides direct promotion and support for numerous social and cultural projects. For example, in recent years its international solidarity initiatives have included the substantial support of Sao Bernardo, to which Sacmi has donated nearly half a million Euros; additionally, 1999 saw the construction of a nursery school as part of the Capuchin monk mission in Ethiopia and two outpatient surgeries have been set up in Togo.
