Green Salad is made mainly with raw green vegetables, especially Lettuce. Lettuce & Tomatoe Salad is also good and tasty. Aged people are supposed to eat more green vegetables like Cabbage and Spinach. In other words these are called 'Greens. The Doctors use to advise their constipated patients to eat more vegetables and fruit as a remedy. Early in the morning try to drink water in empty stomach as more as you can. If you can drink 1 ½ liters of water it is well and good. Start with just one or 2 cups of water in the beginning. When you realize the effect you will automatically keep drinking 1 ½ liters of water in the mornings.

Papaya or papaw is another tropical fruit with green skin, edible orange flesh and small black seeds. Make it as a habit to eat a slice of one of these fruits after lunch and/or dinner as these fruits will be very good relief from constipation.

Likewise drink a cup of hot water as if you are drinking milk, coffee or tea after dinner esp. before going to bed. If this becomes habitual, you will realize the effect the next morning. If you can avoid fatty meals overnight, at least you can reduce the amount gradually. Hamburger and sausages are fatty foods which must be reduced substantially.

It is rather an unknown fact that nobody could open his/her bowel fully no matter how old is the person. Some remainder always hangs in there in the bowel. Only when the waste materials arrive at the rectum we are prompted to attend the call of nature. If this remainder exceeds the limit, it causes lots of sickness like nausea, head ache, bad breath, bowel disorder, laziness, sleeplessness, loss of appetite and what not
