PLDAPPLICATIONS RELEASES THE PCI-X SYS DEVELOPMENT BOARD
·FPGA/ASIC prototyping -- PCI-X/PCI applications
·1 GigaByte/second -- 133MHz on PCI-X bus
·Altera Stratix-based (DSP-blocks features)
·DDR SDRAM -- 400MHz
Aix-en-Provence, France, March 31, 2003 - PLDApplications (PLDA -- www.plda.com), a leading provider of high-speed interconnect solutions for the design community, today announced the immediate availability of the Altera Stratix-based PCI-X SYS development board, the latest product from its extensive and innovative SYS range.
Performances & Applications
Running on the PCI-X bus and leaning on PLDA 64-bit 133MHz PCI-X IP core, the PCI-X SYS development board can be mounted with several Stratix devices in different sizes from 10,570 to 32,470 LEs. It features two fully independent banks of 4Mx32-bit words of Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM.
It thus provides a rapid and high-bandwidth prototyping platform to FPGA or ASIC designers. It can also be used by customers at system-level in applications including digital signal processing (DSP), test & measurement or data acquisition in various fields like components manufacturing, physical sciences, aerospace and military. Saying Arnaud Schleich, vice president of sales and marketing at PLDA: our ultimate concern has always been to help designers achieve shorter deadlines; we are confident that the PCI-X SYS is a critical step for those willing to develop and deliver PCI-X/PCI applications or to validate Stratix-based products in a flash."
Scalability Allows Applications Enhancement
Additional features are provided to let users augment the board according to their application specific needs. The PMC64 interface opens up possibilities for plugging real PMC or custom daughter cards like the 2 channels 4Gigabit/second fiber optic extension card available from PLDA. It can also be used for any customized IO requirements or to add more processing power to the board if need be. A CameraLink interface is available as well to connect high speed digital cameras in vision and imaging applications.
Complete Development Package
Like other products of the SYS family, the PCI-X SYS is delivered with PLDA IP cores free license: PCI-X, PCI and DDR SDRAM controller. It is also delivered with a complete set of development and simulation tools like the IP Wizard for core customization and a VHDL/Verilog test bench. Time-unlimited support services are also proposed to help designers cut time-to-market.
Availability & Pricing
PCI-X SYS development board pricing starts at $2.490 and is available now directly from PLDA and its distributors worldwide.
The PCI-X SYS and other boards from the SYS family including PC104+ SYS and CompactPCI SYS will be demonstrated by PLDA at Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, CA (April 23-25, 2003 - booth #723)
