Natick, Massachusetts - VDC's upcoming multi-client research program: 'TCO Models for Mobile Computing and Communications Platforms in Industrial and Harsh Commercial Environments' is adding sponsors every week. Companies committed to this program include many of the world's largest and most innovative suppliers of rugged and commercial grade mobile hardware and systems.

Growing sponsorship will drive a number of benefits for the program including:
1. Bigger research budget producing larger sample sizes; and
2. More comprehensive analysis of different form factors and platform packages.

Recent discussions with early sponsors of the program have helped increase program focus on two areas with potentially significant impacts on TCO:
1. Software architecture; and
2. Support services.

The study will focus on building models for seven core market segments. Each segment will be packaged in a dedicated report volume. Interested parties can choose from any combination of volumes for their company sponsorship.

Volumes include:
1. Retail/Distribution (Direct-Store-Delivery, Retail In-Store)
2. Field Professionals (Maintenance and Repair, Sales)
3. Supply Chain (Mail/Courier/Freight, Warehouse/ Distribution Center)
4. Health Services Point of Care
5. Manufacturing Shop Floor
6. Public Safety
7. Travel/Leisure/Hospitality Management
