Digital Movie Company finds a fit with a new sponsor

Prelude2Cinema has secured SCOTTeVEST as a sponsor for its digital TV Series "Out of Darkness."

Cleveland,Ohio -- Prelude2Cinema, a digital movie company in Cleveland, Ohio, has secured Chicago based SCOTTeVEST as a sponsor for its digital TV Series "Out of Darkness." SCOTTeVEST produces a multi-jacket that holds electronic devices. The website at www.scottevest.com features the stylish jackets that allows users to finally have a pocket for all their electronic devices. The jackets will be featured in "Out of Darkness" which is about a Cleveland female Latino detective whose body is overtaken by a shadow- like creature that literally devours criminals. The TV Series is based on the multiple Emmy winning TV Movie "What Angels Fear." Emmy winning writer Alex P. Michaels will be serving as Executive Producer of the first season of "Out of Darkness" and also plays one of the characters in the series.

"Out of Darkness" will tie together the digital features we have produced here in the last few years because some of the same characters (and actors) who appear in the movies will show up in the series. I'm happy SCOTTeVEST has came aboard because it is new technology and the police station the detectives work out of is a new sort of station," says Michaels. New technology plays a crucial part in Prelude2Cinema who is using the Canon XL1 digital camera to shoot the series and editing on a PC and finishing the series as a DVD. Yet, the company takes its cue from the history of movies and bases its company philosophy on the Studio System that began Hollywood. Without digital technology, Prelude2Cinema would not be able to create its studio. The Company has relied heavily on the Internet to build attention an international and local audience. Prelude2Cinema's main source of attention has been its three year old website at www.prelude2cinema.com which has had nearly 20,000 hits and features: movie clips; movie and TV news; contests; and an on-line studio store.

While the detectives in "Out of Darkness" will work out of a fictional 7th District, there is a key tie into Cleveland's past. A major story line will emerge that involves Eliot Ness, the Untouchable, who made his mark in Chicago then came to Cleveland in the late 1930's and battled one of the first Serial Killers known as the Butcher of Kingsbury Run. The 7th District's job is to handle crime that spills over from all the six districts and suburbs, so Prelude2Cinema will be shooting all over the city of Cleveland.

It is ironic that the first business sponsor for the Series is from Chicago like Eliot Ness. Prelude2Cinema connected with SCOTTeVEST through www.epropshop.com, an on-line product placement site that connects media creators and companies seeking product placement. Prelude2Cinema has also benefited from the web with its site www.prelude2cinema.com which landed the company the attention of Los Angeles Producer Pamela Staton. Miss Staton provides support for the company in Los Angles and allowed the company the resources to produce the series as a DVD. New York Actress Lorraine Rodriguez who plays the Latina lead was cast through an notice at www.hellohola.org, an on-line casting service for Latino actors. The rest of the cast for "Out of Darkness" is from Cleveland. Prelude2Cinema is dedicated to making this a Cleveland TV series.

Prelude2Cinema has also created a site for "Out of Darkness" at www.prelude2cinema.com/dark.htm which features clips from the pilot and a way to invest securely on-line. Prelude2Cinema will be holding a fund-raising in the real world for the TV Series as part of an Event named "Movies Are Taxing Too!" on April 13th. The location is a karate dojo, which will double as the police station in "Out of Darkness." The Event is free, but exclusive to financial supporters of the arts and will feature: movies, music, food, comedy and gifts. Registration is on-line at www.prelude2cinema.com/taxes.htm.

While Michaels is glad for Chicago's SCOTTeVEST coming aboard with "Out of Darkness," he is still seeking some other businesses to be sponsors for the series. Prelude2Cinema has included a link on its TV Series website to the Chicago company and will feature the jackets in the series. Michaels says, "I hope SCOTTeVEST gets a lot of business through being featured in the "Out of Darkness" and there's a lot of opportunities for other companies to be highlighted in the show, we just hope they take advantage of it."
