KUA Says 'Thanks' to America's Military

KUA and EchoArtz join together to produce giant greeting card for American service men and women overseas.

KISSIMMEE, Fla., March 28, 9:30 am -- Thanks to Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) and EchoArtz, Osceola County residents have an opportunity to send messages of encouragement and support to American service men and women overseas.

KUA and EchoArtz joined together to produce a giant greeting card that was officially unveiled this morning by KUA President & General Manager Jim Welsh. The card stands eight feet high and twelve feet long. The card cover features the Statue of Liberty surrounded by the U.S. flag and reads, "Osceola Supports the Troops." The inside of the card features a patriotic quote from President Bush.

KUA will host a greeting card signing between now and April 25 at its customer service center, located at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee. Visitors can write their own message of encouragement to a member of our military. The card will then be delivered to a military base for shipment to troops serving in the Middle East.

"Showing our troops we support them is more than just a nice thing to do," Welsh said at the unveiling. "It boosts morale, which boosts readiness and effectiveness."

In addition, the utility is distributing in its lobby free American flag lapel pins as well as printed U.S. flags.

Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida's 6th largest community-owned utility serving 58,000 electric, water and internet customers in five Central Florida counties.

EchoArtz is a full-service art reproduction and promotions company based in Kissimmee.
