Game Cabinets, Inc. announces a new 'Build Your Own joystick kit. This easy to assemble gaming controller brings the classic arcade experience to your home PC.

Redmond Washington. -- March 5th, 2003 - For immediate release Game Cabinets, Inc. has announced the release of a unique and customizable arcade joystick controller that comes in the form of a kit. Designed for the home computer user, this easy to assemble kit features a laser cut wood box and high quality commercial grade arcade controls.

Included with every kit is a detailed and easy to understand instruction manual that explains how to assemble the controller.
The customer experience starts on the Game Cabinets, Inc. website with an interactive animated construction process. The user can build and visualize what their controller kit will look like when its completed. They get to choose the controller top, number of joysticks, button colors and even the option to add a cool neon-like wire to make the controller glow in the dark.

The pre-manufactured parts are made from a high quality A1 grade birch wood. The customer then has the option to paint, stain, airbrush, hand paint, laminate, or leave the box in its classy natural birch appearance.

With every kit, we offer the option to add a high quality interface board that allows the user to plug the joystick controller into their PC. This PS/2 or USB interface board does not require any special drivers. An optional wiring harness is also available, eliminating the need for soldering or crimping. No wiring experience is necessary!

This controller was designed to replicate that classic arcade feel using gaming emulation programs such as M.A.M.E., Retrocade, and commercial release titles such as Microsoft's "Return of the Arcade", and "William's Classic Arcade hits". These great 80's and 90's games were designed for arcade joysticks and buttons, and this is where our controller kit comes into play. This controller simulates that "real" classic arcade experience by using commercial grade arcade components.

With the current control top options we offer, the customer can play single player games or complex arcade games that require dual joysticks such as Robotron, Karate Champ, Smash T.V., or even CrazyClimber. Future control panels will allow for the addition of a trackball or spinner.

We are currently taking orders for these kits to be shipped starting March 5th, 2003. We anticipate no shipping delays at this time as our manufacturing shop is in full production.
