Serengeti Matter Management System Helps Lucent Technologies Connect with Law Firms Worldwide

Because of Serengeti Tracker's Unique Design, Implementation and Training for Lucent Technologies Took Less than Three Months.

Bellevue, WA -- March 25, 2003 -- Serengeti Law today announced the completion of the implementation of the Serengeti Tracker system, a secure Web-based system, to connect Lucents Law Department with its law firms worldwide. Lucents professional and support legal staff can now exchange key information online within a single organized system to manage legal bills, documents, budgets, status updates, and results. Because of the systems unique design, it took less than three months to train and connect more than 120 Lucent users in some 37 offices, with their law firms located throughout the US and more than 50 countries.

"We wanted a system that would make us significantly more efficient managing our legal work with outside firms, that would be easy to use for our professional and support staff worldwide, and that would allow us to work with our outside counsel firms more effectively" said Steve Rosen, VP-Law. "Serengeti helps us meet these goals and also helps eliminate much of the paper that we were dealing with, since we now have organized online information coming in directly from our law firms, which helps us stay on top of our legal spending and results."

Because Serengeti hosts the Web-based system, Lucent users and law firms with Internet connections did not need to install any new hardware or software. Quick implementation was also facilitated by an intuitive design: training sessions for lawyers, paralegals, and staff (in-house and at law firms), averaging about twenty users per online session, took about one hour each. System flexibility allows immediate acceptance of legal bills in any electronic format directly from all law firm time and billing systems, including more than 150 currencies. Capabilities that the Lucent Law Department has gained include: electronic legal bill auditing, important development alerts, budget management, shared online legal files, and on-demand management reports.
