Former U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher today released contact information for members of the media who would like to seek interviews on issues relating to public health, health care, and the health aspects of biochemical terrorism.

Between 1998 and 2002, Dr. Satcher issued a dozen Surgeon Generals reports, Calls to Action, and similar reports calling attention to health issues ranging from mental health, tobacco use and prevention, breastfeeding, sexual health and obesity. During that same period, he also served as Assistant Secretary for Health, which acts as the Senior Adviser to the Secretary of HHS on matters pertaining to public health and science. From 1993 to 1998, he served as the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and as Administrator of the Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.
The National Center for Primary Care houses a growing team of scholars and clinicians who are building programs aimed at promoting excellence in community-oriented primary health care and optimal health outcomes for all Americans, with a special emphasis on underserved populations and on eliminating health disparities.
