Newton, MA, March 24, 2003 - Shiva, the SECURE remote access specialists, today announced the Shiva "VPN Technology Protection Program" that offers installed base customers from Shiva, and other Shiva OEM 3rd party* customers, a one year hardware or software maintenance agreement to cover legacy VPN products that had not been previously eligible for support, or a hardware refresh" to the latest Shiva LanRover VPN Gateway for up to 50% off of list price. Both options run for a limited time and end on April 30, 2003. "Shiva is committed to delivering high performance technology with high ROI programs to our installed base, and the VPN Technology Protection Program is the first in a series of initiatives to deliver on that commitment. Through this program we are providing a continuity path to customers who are looking to extend the life of their existing Shiva investments, as well as those seeking to migrate cost effectively to our latest, award-winning VPN hardware, software and support solutions," said Steve Fischer, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Shiva Corporation. One Year Shiva VPN Maintenance AgreementThe Shiva VPN Maintenance Agreement is designed to extend software and hardware maintenance to customers who have previously purchased Shiva, or other 3rd party branded products* that had become ineligible or lost support. Shiva VPN Refresh" Program
The Shiva Refresh" Program is designed to provide a cost effective migration path to the new Shiva LanRover 3105 or LanRover 3125 VPN Gateway, complete with Shiva's Gold or Platinum support, at up to a 50% discount off of list price. Legacy Shiva, or other 3rd party products* are eligible to receive a 30% discount off of list price, and another 20% off of list price if the original VPN product is returned to Shiva. The total savings in the U.S. range up to $999 and $6,499 depending upon the refresh selected. Eligible trade-in products include:
