Formerly limited to residents of China, the .cn domain name is now available to
every business and individual worldwide through www.easyspace.com

With the support of CNNIC, the official Chinese registry for .cn domains, Easyspace is now enabled to provide instant registration of Chinas top level domain.

Fewer than 175,000 domains have been registered within China to date. The release of this desirable domain into the global market is expected to activate a boom in registrations.

Theres a large Chinese community around the world, who now have the opportunity to register their own domain. In addition there are many businesses who realise the future opportunity China presents for their business" said Erik Young -- CEO of ICANN accredited registrar Easyspace. With our fee being around one third lower than other registrars we have priced these domains to ensure anyone can afford their own .cn domain name."

.cn domains can be quickly and easily registered through companies like Easyspace for just $26 per year.

During the fourth quarter of last year, Chinas Ministry of Information Industry decided to fully automate and extend the .cn top level domain market to include registrants outside China.

Chinas annual growth is expected to perform well over the next few years supported by a fast emerging and progressively more sophisticated Internet community. With around 60 million users in China it is projected that this will become the worlds largest user base for e-commerce and online services within the next three years.

Offering a comprehensive range of services, which includes web hosting and dedicated servers to support its domain name clients, Easyspace is now a cornerstone of the Internet. As well as being an accredited ICANN registrar Easyspace offers a further 28 alternative domain names with descriptive suffixes like .shop, .ltd, .law and .mp3. The company is debt free. Erik Young and Samuel Evans privately own Easyspace. Easyspace opened regional offices in Bangkok Thailand in January 2003 to expand technical resources and support the region. Easyspace is the sole ICANN registrar in Thailand and one of a handful in the region.

About ICANN
ICANN was formed as a non-profit corporation under sponsorship of the United States Department of Commerce to assume responsibility for co-ordinating the management of the domain name system, the allocation of IP address space, and the assignment of protocol parameters and the management of the root server system. Previously, one company controlled the registry for .com, .net and .org domains and was deemed to be a monopoly. The aim of ICANN is to create a competitive market in order to give the consumer a choice and therefore a better deal.
