PBFN Selects Atlanta-based Meeting Expectations for Conference Planning and Execution

Conference to focus on transition from locker room to boardroom

The Professional Business and Financial Network (PBFN), a membership organization exclusively for professional athletes focused on professional success in life after the game, announced the selection of Meeting Expectations (ME!) to spearhead its 2003 conference planning needs. ME! has been contracted by PBFN to manage conference operations, communications, sponsorships, planning and execution.

Our goal is to help PBFN meet all of its conference objectives and exceed the expectations of its members and sponsors," said Steven Hughes, executive director of Meeting Expectations.

According to Karen Adams, Senior Director of Member and Business Relations, the selection of ME! was accomplished through a very comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process. After reviewing the RFPs, a selection committee presented ME! to the executive committee who then made the final decision to select ME! as their provider.

The meeting and association management company is currently organizing PBFNs second annual Business Development Conference. The conference will take place May 16-18, 2003 at San Diegos Westin Horton Plaza. Seasoned business owners and entrepreneurs both from within and outside professional athletics will lead hands-on workshops, keynotes and panel discussions, drawing professional athletes to San Diego to focus on life beyond the game.

The conference will provide firsthand accounts of the successes and the challenges of the transition from the locker room to the boardroom. Some of this years topics include: security issues and identity theft; decision-making for business start-ups or franchising; as well as networking and building business relationships.

Meeting Expectations is working hand-in-hand with our team at PBFN," comments Adams. With Meeting Expectations' help, we believe we can continue to work more efficiently and concentrate on the critical growth of our membership and operational strategy issues."
