The Iraqi War -- What's the World Really Saying?
We've all seen the real-time television coverage of bombs falling on Iraq, but are we getting the whole story? A true democracy requires access to a broad and diverse pool of opinions. StumbleUpon has now launched its Iraqi Conflict category to assist internet news seekers in locating up-to-the-minute and uncensored information on the war in Iraq.
StumbleUpon.com has announced the addition of a new personal interests category to help users of the StumbleUpon Toolbar collaboratively share web sites which address the issues surrounding the war in Iraq and how they affect the world. One click and internet news junkies will be able to locate high-quality Iraq-related resources as recommended by other users.
"Our aim is to facilitate a greater democracy on the internet and in our media," states Garrett Camp, StumbleUpon Systems Architect. "We present Iraqi-related web sites that have been recommended by our users so the content is always fresh and covers a wide spectrum of opinions."
StumbleUpon gathers user-suggested web sites as well as multiple news feeds to present breaking stories from around the world. With a single click on the StumbleUpon Toolbar, users will locate Iraqi-related content as recommended by other like-minded web surfers.
"It's important that we all have access to timely information on these issues from a broad range of sources," says Camp. "If we rely on a single source for our news coverage, we're not seeing the complete picture."
StumbleUpon is a free, personalized web surfing community which matches the preferences of users with the recommendations of other like-minded members. The StumbleUpon Toolbar, along with the Iraqi Conflict category pre-selected, can be downloaded at www.stumbleupon.com/iraq.html.
