NEW YORK, NY - April 3, 2003 - Omni MD, a New York based developer of Health Information Technology solutions, today announced the release of yet another addition to their impressive roster of ASP (Internet-based) Medical Facility Management offerings, the OmniMD Direct-to-Pharmacy Prescription Manager. As with the other modules available under the OmniMD suite of integrated solutions - including Electronic Medical Records, Charge Capture, Digital Dictation with associated transcription services, Document Management, Referrals, Scheduling, and more -- the Prescription Manager was designed to meet and exceed the guidelines mandated by the HIPAA legislation of 1996. Additionally, the application is available in full function editions for Internet-connected PCs, Windows-based Pocket PCs (PDA handheld devices), and the new Tablet PCs, allowing for system access and usage regardless of a given facilitys network and hardware configurations.

When licensed as a standalone product, the OmniMD Prescription Manager allows providers to write their patients prescriptions directly from their Pocket PC or desktop computer, selecting the appropriate medication and correct dosage from either the complete NDC formulary or a customized list of most commonly prescribed drugs." This process guarantees the shortest possible turnaround between the time a prescription is written and the time patients can begin taking their respective medications.
