Slated for September 10-14, 2003
Temecula, CA --- A feast for the eyes and ears is slated for September 10th-14, 2003. The Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival (TVIFMF) held at the Movie Experience 10 at Tower Plaza (26735 Ynez Road) in Temecula will be celebrating its 9th anniversary! This five-day event which includes continuous Film Screenings in six theaters, Music Performances by bands and individual performers and Film & Music industry related exhibits is now accepting entries for both film and music. Entry deadline is July 30, 2003.
The program for TVIFMF this year will consist of a selection of feature films, short films, animated films, student work and documentaries from around the globe. The 2003 Film Program will be representative of new and emerging styles of cinema and include films from North America, South America, Europe, Asia, the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world.
Other events include special programs that are representative of important and diverse areas filmmaking:
American Film Institute Showcase featuring the work of filmmakers from Americas preeminent institution dedicated to preserving and advancing the art of the moving image.
Martial Arts Showcase will feature the work of filmmakers dedicated to this popular film genre. This showcase will also include demonstrations and workshops for people of all ages.
Workshops/Dialogue Series
In addition to the annual slate of Writing Directing, Finance and Distribution workshops, TVIFF will program inspiring and entertaining "Coffee and Conversation/Dialogue Series" with film and music industry personalities.
The Music Competition will provide a forum by which new, unsigned musical talents are showcased before an international audience of music industry professionals and music loving fans. New to the Music Component for 2003 will be the addition of a Sunday ALL STAR JAM to cap the Festivals Closing Day Festivities. From Folk to Pop, from Rock to Jazz, from Country to Rhythm & Blues and all points in between, we aim to reach new levels and discover new musical artists from all genres.
The Black Tie Awards Gala will present Lifetime Achievement Awards to some of the most respected names in the film industry. Confirmed to date are Dr. Howard Suber, Co-Founder of the UCLA Film School Producers Program and Penelope Spheeris, whose directing credits include WAYNES WORLD, THE ADDAMS FAMILY. Geoff Gilmore, Director of Programming/Special Projects of the prestigious Sundance Institute will be a presenter.
The five-day event's social calendar starts with a spectacular Opening Night Festivities, followed by daily and nightly filmmaker/musician receptions, a spectacular Saturday Black Tie Awards Gala, a Sunday morning Hot Air Balloon Ride and an exciting array of Closing Day Festivities. Also three special awards programs will be featured: Jury and Audience Awards for Film & Music Competition, College Scholarship Awards and Lifetime and Career Achievement Awards for Film and Music.
