Cosaint and the Health Care Training Institute Announce Partnership to Deliver Privacy and Security Awareness Training

Cosaint Inc. and the Health Care Training Institute (HCTI) announced a partnership designed to deliver privacy and information security awareness training to organizations in the healthcare arena. The initiative is well-timed since it coincides with both the April 14th deadline for HIPAA Privacy Rule awareness-training, and the recent release of the finalized HIPAA Security Rules.

Under the terms of the agreement, Cosaint and HCTI will deliver each others courses to clients through a variety of media including their established Web portals (Cosaint Certify(TM) and HCTI.org), courseware developed to AICC and SCORM standards, and on HCTIs 'Solutions Kit' CDROM. The partners will also be well positioned to provide customized courses with their combination of healthcare expertise, information security background and course development skills.

"A comprehensive HIPAA training program will require general security awareness training for all staff, as well as more specialized training for some personnel," said HCTI CEO Peter B. Summerville.
