Recognizing the Need For Automation

Datamatics helps companies save time and money by using the latest technology to automate labor management.

FORDS, NJ (PRWEB) April 6, 2003 -- Datamatics, a leader in Labor Management Solutions announced today the release of Version 3.2 Web-based timesheet application. In addition to basic attendance tracking, Web connectivity provides administrative access, employee self-service tools for reviewing and requesting Paid Time Off (PTO), and allows for exception notification and reporting to foster better management.

Many organizations spend an excessive amount of hours for processing, reviewing and approving timesheets, and may never allocate time to the appropriate cost center. With tightening corporate budgets and the need to improve efficiencies, many organizations automate this area of their business," states Bill Loss, Vice President of Datamatics. Loss continues to point out, through automation, employers make better use of available resources, allowing people to work in more productive areas and gain access to key data about utilization."

As a long time client of Datamatics, Dickinson Financial had more than 175 people doing some type of time card approval and benefits tracking. As a financial institution, virtually 100% of the people in the company had a PC in front of them, and they were connected to a network. This naturally lent itself to an automated time and attendance system. We began our search for a company to provide these services in early 2000," states Marvin Schutte, Senior Vice President and IS Manager for Dickinson. I investigated several large time collection companies. It was a relatively long process, but when we found Datamatics and looked at their software and industry experience, we were not only impressed with the features, but the cost made our decision simple."

Dickinson Financial has 130 locations, in 14 states. Many of the locations are in different time zones requiring a streamlined collection, processing and retrieval of data in a centralized location. Uniquely enough, payroll was being processed out of two separate headquarter locations. The ability to gather pay information easily on a central server was an obvious solution. We have two categories of employees-those who are paid by time card, and those who are salaried employees," mentions Schutte. The centralized system Datamatics installed benefits salaried as well as time card employees, as it could keep track of vacation time, sick days, benefit accruals, and other relevant data," according to Schutte.

Schutte explained, Before we contracted Datamatics, we asked for references from other financial customers of theirs." Zions Bank, one of their larger clients in Salt Lake City, employs about 7500 people throughout the mid-west. Through a testing process, Zions found that due to manual time card calculation errors, they could pay for the system in just correcting the calculation errors! We havent done any formal tracking, but it is clear the system is well worth the investment," remarks Schutte.
